Could Lyme be a bioweapon?!

Check out Kris Newby’s book “Bitten: The Secret History of Lyme Disease and Biological Weapons.” You should also tune in to her documentary “Under our Skin.”

Kris outlines how she believes Lyme disease was developed as a biological weapon by the U.S. government.

She found Army documents that showed they said they were conducting early gain-of- function experiments by mixing bacteria and viruses inside ticks to create more effective bioweapons. She also discovered a massive bug weapons program, as well as Project 112, which was a program where germs were sprayed from airplanes. Some of those germs were tick-borne diseases that were freeze-dried and aerosolized for spraying.

Kris interviewed Willy Burgdorfer, a Swiss medical zoologist, who is credited with discovering Lyme disease. He worked at a National Institutes of Health-run biosafety level 4 facility which oversees the U.S. chemical and biological weapons programs.

Burgdorfer explained that once he got a security clearance, he started putting plague in fleas, deadly yellow fever in mosquitoes, and mixing and matching viruses and bacteria in ticks to increase their virulence. The goal was to have ticks that could be dropped enemies without arousing suspicion, filled with agents that the target population wouldn't have natural immunity.

When you think about Lyme disease with it’s wide array of symptoms, it’s ability to evade the immune system, how hard is it detect in testing and equally hard to treat… plus given everything we’ve gone through in the last few years, the bioweapons theory makes a lot of sense.
