Reasons to ditch the hand dryer in public restrooms

I have been a drip dryer for forever. Anyone else avoid the hand dryer in the public restroom? If not, you may want to start...

Every time a lidless toilet flushes, a toilet plume occurs. That's when thousands of contaminated microscopic particles of whatever was in the potty are shot into the air (sometimes up to 15 ft) and onto surfaces. That contaminated air is sucked up into the hand dryer and blown back out onto your hands in concentrated doses. And probably your clothes. Gross.

Studies have shown that just 30 seconds under the hand dryer can produce 16-18 bacterial colonies on the hands. One woman put a petri dish under a hand dryer for 3 minutes and posted a picture of what developed after a few days. Check it out... https://www.facebook.com/nichole.ward.75/posts/10215141893689736

Using the hand dryer to be eco-friendly and save a tree? No worries - hand dryers are actually MORE harmful to the environment than paper towels. Plus paper towels decrease bacteria on hands by about 76%.

Drip-dry, use a paper towel or bring your own... but unless you want to counteract the hand washing, stop using the gross hand dryers!
